Cherry Bars
Ingredients:
1 box yellow cake mix (or white cake mix)
1/3 cup melted butter
1 egg
1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) . Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper
.
In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms .
Press about 2/3 of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust .
Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the dough .
Crumble the remaining dough over the cherry filling to create a crumbly topping .
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cherries are bubbling .
Let the cherry bars cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar .
Slice into squares and enjoy these sweet, fruity bars!
